Dipesh Pokhrel

Founder

Dipesh is a fiscal department employee at a local non-profit organization located in Salisbury, Maryland. In his spare time, he likes to dedicate his time to wife Lauren and his two sons, Surya and Jivan. He intends to make Chowk a common space for all to share an understanding of their everyday living. He hopes that Chowk can become a place to read about anything from political commentary, cultural critiques, or even sharing of recipes.

Lauren Hatch Pokhrel

Lauren Hatch Pokhrel is a researcher and teacher. She is currently earning her doctorate in Literacy Studies, teaches college English, is a professional writing consultant, and United States Returned Peace Corps volunteer. She is the Social Media Coordinator and Developing Editor of Race and Yoga, the first peer-reviewed journal in Critical Yoga Studies.

She is the Co-Founder and Writing Consultant of Pokhrel Solutions, a co-owned company that assists with financial and writing for small businesses that she runs with her husband Dipesh.

Her research interests include antiracist and anticolonial writing pedagogies, linguistic justice, and translanguaging writing pedagogies; and as such, she hopes to amplify voices of the Nepali diasporic community. She lives on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with her husband and two boys.
